United Fisheries Ltd is a family-owned business that has grown since 1974 from modest beginnings to become one of the top ten seafood companies in New Zealand. The company has a state-of-the-art facility for the process of hydrolysing liquid fish protein from fish waste. 

United Fisheries has developed hydrolysed fish protein by the enzymatic hydrolysis of fish offal using the fish caught according to the quota management system from a sustainable fishing resource. This product is a valuable natural source of protein, amino acids, peptides, vitamins, and minerals to turn into fish fertiliser for agricultural use and fish silage as a feed source. Hydrolysed fish fertiliser is blended with seaweed and humate. This has a complete range of macro and trace elements. 

Bio Marinus fish fertiliser is available with added biological compounds and is called Biological fish fertiliser. The only waste further to the hydrolysis process is the fish bone. This fish bone is turn in to calcium powder as microcrystalline hydroxyapatite compound called fish bone calcium powder and Cal-Sea+, liquefied fish bone. Fish bone is regarded as a good source of calcium and phosphorus. The process preserves all the nutrients present in the fish bone in liquid form and presents them in their simpler form, readily available for the plants.
