UNDERGROUND Festival is New Zealand’s first dedicated celebration of soil, food, and regenerative farming—bringing together farmers, growers, scientists, and food lovers for two immersive days of learning, connection, and inspiration.

In 2026 it is again to be held at Greystone, a regenerative organic vineyard in Waipara (just north of Christchurch), the festival blends expert talks, hands-on field workshops, and local organic food into a unique, on-farm experience. With over 30 speakers from New Zealand and abroad, topics range from soil microbiology and agroforestry to drought resilience and mātauranga Māori. Attendees can explore working compost systems, pasture walks, soil labs, and enjoy a curated market of regenerative businesses.

More than just a conference, UNDERGROUND is a living classroom, community gathering, and feast rolled into one—designed to spark practical change in how we grow, shop, and eat.
